All work must be carried out by personnel with experience in this type of installation and approved by Australian Glass Assemblies

The sub contractor shall have a calibrated torque wrench and shall apply the torques recommended by Australian Glass Assemblies.

TYPICAL SEQUENCE OF INSTALLATION

1. Setup the jig layout with the center to center dimensions of the spars and the end center fixing dimension as per drawings provided.

2. Unpack and check all components supplied by A.G.A.

3. Familiarize and check the tension truss detail and assembling drawings.

4. Check all the pre assembled tension truss components dimensions before connecting to the spars.

5. Place the pre-assemble Spar / node assemblies on to the specified position of the jig.

6. Connect Stainless Steel Rods to the spars.

7. Check final rod dimension and if adjustment is necessary turn the stainless steel rods until the required length is achieved.

8. Erect the truss into its correct position and tighten rods until the system is stiff and rigid.

9. Tighten the T-Brackets to the structure to achieve final tensioning.

10. Installation of glass panel on to the spiders and tension truss.

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE:

1. On completion of the installation, check all nuts and bolts that fix the T-Brackets to the Steel Frame. Ensure that there has been no relaxation of the fixings into the structure.

2. Check all swivel fixings: a) Ø60 Disc tightness against the glass.
b) m10 nut fixing swivel assembly to the spider arm.

3. Check all m16 lock nuts between the back of the spider/collar and the spars, ensuring they are tightened up against the fittings.

4. Repeat check of nuts and bolts fixing the T-brackets of the Tension Truss to the structure 6 months after completion and then every subsequent 12 months.

5. Ensure that all the grit and dirt is removed from the tension truss components
